Opening up Glades

Removing invasive conifer trees that should have been removed much earlier is taking place in key areas. This is allowing light to enter the woodland floor and allow a diverse habitat to establish.

Tree Planting

New trees are being planted around the woodland perimeter margins to provide a wind break and increase species diversity.

Bat Boxes

We are making and installing a range of Bat boxes that will hopefully be adopted

Covert Video and Photography

We rotate throughout the woodland a range of hidden wildlife cameras. As we capture images and film we upload it onto this website.

Ecology Survey

We wish to survey the woodland and it is no easy task but a strong start has been made.

Combining the species list generated with information about species lifestyles and habitat requirements, along with information about their conservation status, will help to establish the ecological importance of the wood and guide management practices.

Woodland Management

We are developing a programme of woodland management to improve the quality and diversity of the woodland.

Woodland Pond

We have created the first of three woodland ponds. These will improve the diversity of wildlife and provide a much needed water source.

Bird Box installation

There is a programme of bird box making and installation this is the second year of successful Tawny Owl nesting in our owl nest box.
